Mixed with or without alcohol: Kombucha cocktails for summer

Whether with or without alcohol, there are many delicious drink variations with kombucha, making it hard to decide which one to mix first. With its characteristic sweet and sour taste, kombucha is ideal as a base for creative cocktail recipes. We have two light kombucha cocktails for you! This time with alcohol: Bourbon Booch and Berry Booch. Have fun mixing and enjoying!

Refreshing kombucha cocktail with lime and ice in a glass

Bourbon Booch – The original, but different!

Bourbon Booch combines Kombuchery Original kombucha with bourbon, fresh lime, and ice. The result is a simple kombucha cocktail with a fresh, slightly tart note.

Ingredients for 1 glass:

  • 100 ml Kombuchery Original Kombucha
  • 4 cl of your choice of bourbon
  • Lime juice from half a lime
  • 2 slices of organic lime for decoration
  • Ice cubes

And here's how to mix it:

  1. Pour the bourbon into a glass filled with ice.
  2. Add the kombucha and the juice from half a lime.
  3. Stir everything gently.
  4. Decorate the drink with the lime slices and serve immediately.

Fruity Berry Booch cocktail with dark berries and lemon

Berry Booch – Your fruity summer cocktail!

Do you like fruity cocktails? Then Berry Booch with blackberries, lemon, gin, and kombucha is just right for your next summer evening. The berries provide a fruity note, while the lemon and kombucha round off the drink with a fresh and tart finish.

Ingredients for 1 glass:

  • 4 cl gin
  • 1 cl lemon juice
  • 6 cl Kombuchery Original Kombucha
  • 10 blackberries
  • A little salt and 2 lemon wedges for the rim of the cocktail glass
  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • Ice cubes

And here's how to mix it:

  1. Add the blackberries and lemon juice to the shaker and muddle the berries with a muddler or a spoon.
  2. Add the gin and ice. Close the shaker and shake everything vigorously.
  3. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice and top up the drink with kombucha.
  4. Stir gently and serve the cocktail immediately.

If you want to serve your Berry Booch particularly decoratively, you can prepare a lemon-salt rim on the cocktail glass. Pour a little salt onto a plate or into a shallow bowl. Rub the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and then carefully dip it into the salt. Pour in the cocktail afterwards.

Tips for successful kombucha cocktails

  • Use well-chilled kombucha: This makes the drinks particularly refreshing.
  • Top up only at the end: Add the kombucha only after shaking so that as much of its fizz as possible is preserved.
  • Work with fresh ingredients: Fresh limes, lemons, and berries bring intense aromas to your cocktails.
  • Vary to taste: Adjust the amount of citrus juice and kombucha to your preferences.
